MARQUETTE - The Northern Michigan University women's soccer team takes the first of three road trips to Ohio this season when the Wildcats visit Tiffin and Findlay this weekend.
NMU faces Tiffin at noon Friday and Findlay at noon Sunday.
Despite a 1-5-1 overall record, NMU is undefeated at 1-0-1 in the GLIAC after a 3-0 win at home over Lake Erie and a 1-1 double-overtime tie at Michigan Tech in its last two games.
For the season, Wildcat freshman Paula Hafner has three goals while senior KC McCary, sophomore Ashley Katers and freshman Carmen Villarruel have one apiece.
Tiffin is also 1-5-1 overall while sporting a 1-1-1 GLIAC record after defeating Ohio Dominican 1-0 and tying Ashland 1-1 last weekend. Giulianne Domingues leads Dragons scorers with two goals this season.
Tiffin has an 7-1-1 all-time record vs. Northern, including a 3-2 win last season in Marquette. NMU's only win in the series came in 2011.
On the road last weekend, Findlay (4-2-1, 1-1-1) lost at Ashland 5-2 and tied Ohio Dominican 1-1. Katie Burke and Eryn Weber each have five goals to lead the Oilers for the season.
The Wildcats hold a slim 10-9-1 series advantage over Findlay, though the Ohio team has a 6-3 edge in games played in its state. Last season, NMU won 3-0 in Marquette as junior Taylor Smith scored twice.
