USOEC: Six medalists lead Greco-Roman team to title

MARQUETTE - Led by six medal winners, the U.S. Olympic Education Center won the Greco-Roman wrestling team title on Sunday in Panama City, Panama, at an event on the International Cup Eduardo Campbell Senior Tour.

Three members of the team based at Northern Michigan University won gold medals - Alejandro Sancho in the 66-kilogram (145.5-pound) weight class, Zac Nielsen at 84 kg (185.2 lb.) and Parker Betts in the 96-120 kg (211.6-264.6 lb.) class.

Silver medals were earned by USOEC teammates Alec Noa at 50-55 kg (110.2-121.3 lbs.), Joseph DeNova at 60 kg (132.3 lbs.) and Tanner Andrews at 74 kg (163.1 lbs.).

With more medalists than any other team, the USOEC accumulated 57 points among nine squads, followed closely by a Panamanian all-star group with 55 and Herrera Province of Panama with 39.
