HARVEY - The public is invited to an open house at the new Chocolay Township Fire Hall from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The new fire hall, located next to the old one at the township offices complex on U.S. 41 in Harvey, cost about $2.6 million and was funded through a 1.7 mills millage request approved by township voters in August 2012.
In addition to the open house, there will be a silent auction to sell surplus township items. For details, visit the website at www.chocolay.org.
Due to parking constraints, overflow parking will be available at the Silver Creek Recreation Area located a short distance from the fire hall.
