ISHPEMING - A Negaunee man sustained minor injuries Monday evening when he failed to stop his motorcycle at a red light and it ran into the rear of a minivan, according to police.

The Marquette County Sheriff's Office reports James Roberts, 30, was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on U.S. 41 at about 7:30 p.m. when he failed to stop at a red light and rear-ended a Dodge minivan driven by Bruce Maki, 54, of Atlantic Mine.

Police said Roberts claimed the setting sun blinded his vision.

He was treated at the scene by Marquette General Hospital EMS for minor injuries to both his legs. None of the passengers in the minivan were injured.
