NMU volleyball: Wildcats sweep Lake Superior State

MARQUETTE - Led by seniors Kalli Herron and Sarah Hamilton, the Northern Michigan University women's volleyball team blanked visiting Lake Superior State on Saturday in three sets, 25-10, 25-20, 25-15.

Herron recorded a team-high 12 kills, an ace and three digs, while Hamilton posted 10 kills and a dig in action held at Vandament Arena.

Senior setter Kellisha Harley collected 31 assists; senior Lina Lopes chipped in eight kills, three aces and two digs; and freshman Alex Larson contributed five kills for NMU, 8-3 overall and 2-0 in the GLIAC.

For LSSU (0-6, 0-2), Emily Snyder turned in seven kills and three digs, while teammates Gabrielle Olsen and Sydne McMullen recorded six kills each.

The Lakers' Janelle Nagy totaled 21 assists and Meghan Drobish came up with 21 digs.
