LANSING (AP) - The Michigan Office of the Great Lakes said more than $500,000 is being awarded for projects seeking to protect and enhance the Great Lakes.
The office says Coastal Zone Management grants announced this week go to 10 communities, nonprofits, state agencies and universities. The new funding aims to enhance public access, encourage stewardship, promote public safety at beaches and support local and regional waterfront redevelopment plans.
The money is provided in part by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. A full list of projects is posted online at www.mi.gov/coastalmanagement.
