Deborah Ann Rose

MARQUETTE, MI. - Deborah Ann Rose, age 60, of Marquette, entered eternal life Sunday afternoon, September 15, 2013, at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming.

Born October 23, 1952 in Marquette, Deborah was raised in Marquette and graduated from Bishop Baraga High School. She enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era and was among the first women trained for intelligence/security purposes for the Navy, spending some of her duty stationed in Japan.

Following her honorable discharge, she moved to California where she was employed for eleven years as a medical transcriptionist for the US Air Force, also operating her own medical transcription business. In 1986, she returned in Marquette and was employed as a medical transcriptionist at the Medical Center's Hematology-Oncology Office. Later, she was employed in the same capacity with Marquette General Hospital's Medical Records Department. Deborah enjoyed reading, traveling, and keeping up on politics.

Survivors include her son, Lincoln J. Rose and his wife, Ina; her mother, Mary Manning; sisters, Jacqueline Hubbard and Mary Lynn Carlton all of Marquette; and former husband, Donald Rose of Cayuga, NY.

Deborah was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Oja; a brother, Glenn Manning Jr; and brother-in-law, George Hubbard.

Honoring Deborah's request, no services will be scheduled.
