ISHPEMING - Winning every flight in straight sets, the Westwood High School girls tennis team blanked visiting Munising on Friday, 8-0.
Megan Chapman led the way, beating Sadie Cornish 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
Courtney Beauchamp, Faith LeRoy and Rachel Anderson also posted singles triumphs for the Patriots.
"Our singles players probably had their best effort of the season as a group," WHS head coach Chris Jackson said.
In doubles, Westwood's Katie Rankinen and Shana Caliguri edged Alex Paquette and Adele Gendron, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.
"Katie and Shana had to overcome a strong comeback from (Paquette and Gendron)," Jackson said. "They were able to battle through two close sets."
Another close match came at No. 2 doubles, where Westwood's Gabby Hebert and Bridget Wood outlasted Gabi Koenig and Ariana Martineau, 7-5, 7-5.
Lacey Pietro and Olivia Derocha at No. 3, and Jamie Ferris and Emily Carlson at No. 4, also picked up doubles wins for the Patriots.
