MARQUETTE - A 37-year-old Wisconsin man pleaded guilty in Marquette County Circuit Court Wednesday morning to one count of operating while intoxicated, third offense.

Scott Michael Upson, of Green Bay, was arrested in late August after leading police on a short car chase on Marquette County Road 550.

According to the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, Upson was driving a Toyota Highlander when police attempted to stop him for a traffic violation near Sugarloaf Mountain.

Police said the vehicle initially stopped but then fled northbound. A pursuit ended at the entrance to Wetmore Pond. Police said the driver would not follow police commands to shut the vehicle off and exit it. Police said Upson attempted to back and up and move forward as he was blocked in.

Police said a Taser was deployed and Upson was arrested. He is scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 11.
