Labor group hosts seminar

ESCANABA - The Upper Peninsula Labor-Management Council Inc. has scheduled a half-day seminar on "Labor-Management Relations In A Right-to-Work State" from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 19 at Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba.

This presentation aims to move beyond the policitcal rhetoric to give a working knowledge of how these laws affect day-to-day labor management relations. The presentation will clarify what the laws allow, how labor and management are responding, and how each can still build and maintain a cooperative relationship.

Presenters include attorney Laura Katers Reilly, Kendricks, Bordeau, Adamini; Greenlee & Keefe, P.C, Shana Alderton, director of Field Services, AFSCME Council 25; and federal mediator Don Maki, Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service.
