MARQUETTE - Two area residents were treated and released from Marquette General Hospital Tuesday after a two-vehicle traffic crash along U.S. 41 in Marquette Township.

Deputies from the Marquette County Sheriff's Office said the crash occurred at 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Commerce Drive.

Logan Love, 17, of Marquette was traveling south through the intersection when her 2008 Jeep Liberty was struck by a 2014 Toyota Tacoma driven by Robert Johnson, 25, of Negaunee. Police said Johnson failed to stop for a red light and was ticketed for that violation.

Love and Johnson were taken to the hospital by Marquette General EMS.

The Marquette City Police Department, Michigan State Police and Marquette Township Fire and Rescue assisted sheriff's deputies at the scene of the crash.
