Kenneth E. Blemke

ISHPEMING, MI. - Kenneth E. Blemke, age 60, of 922 N. Third St., Ishpeming passed away on Friday Sept. 6, 2013 at his home in Ishpeming while in the loving care of his family and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice.

Ken was born November 20, 1952 in Alpena the son of the late Roy and Genevieve (Burns) Blemke. He was a graduate of the Alpena High School, Class of 1970. Ken served in the United States Navy from Sept. of 1970 Nov. of 1973 being honorable discharged from Fighter Squadron Eleven. He moved to Ishpeming in September of 1974 and had worked for the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Co. at the Tilden and Empire Mines. Ken was a member of the Tilden Club. He enjoyed listen to music and also playing the guitar. He was also an outdoorsman who loved time spent camping and fishing.

Survivors include his son Shane Blemke and daughter Carie Blemke both of Ishpeming, a brother Donald Blemke of Ishpeming, a sister Sharon Webster of Alpena, 2 grandchildren Derek Blemke and Kenneth Waters, along with several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Ken's wishes, there will be no public services.
