HARVEY, MI. - Jack B. Anderson, age 72 Harvey resident passed away Wednesday, September 04, 2013 at his home while in the loving care of his family and Lake Superior Hospice. Jack entered Internal Life after a long Courageous battle with cancer.

Jack was born January 12, 1941 in Stambaugh, Michigan to Alvin & Mildred (Greenwood) Anderson. After graduating from Stambaugh High School, Jack enlisted in the United Stated Navy in 1959 where he served on the USS Somersworth.

He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1968. Jack then enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserve in 1989.

Jack enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Martin Lake where he enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. He was a Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed watching the games. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Marquette and in Arizona. Jack Cherished time spent with his Family.

Jack is survived by 5 children: Pat (Rick) Petrocik of Ishpeming, Cathy (Ernie) Koziel of Woodstown, NJ, Laura Lanciloti of Albuquerque, NM, Mark Anderson of Staten Island, NY, & David Phillips of Ishpeming, 8 grandchildren: Melanie, Michael, Dan and fiance Shayle, Becky, Amanda, Chelsea, Andrew & John, great grandchildren: Jaylan, Felicity, Lilliana, Nathaniel, along with nieces, nephews & cousins.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Mildred (Greenwood) Anderson, wife Diann and brothers Dale & Jim Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming with Deacon Dean Jackson officiating.

Jack's family will greet relatives and friends at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00am until the time of service at 12:00 noon.

Inurnment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery immediately following the memorial service where Military Honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 380.

A luncheon will be held at Jack's home following the service.

Jack's family would like to thank special friend and neighbor Beverly and Lake Superior Hospice for the wonderful care given to Jack.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Lake Superior Hospice.
