NEGAUNEE, MI. - Eugenia M. "Jean" Maino, 89, of Cherry St. Negaunee, died at 11:22 pm on Saturday, September 1, 2013 at the Marquette County Medical Facility where she had been a patient since 2009.

Jean was born November 7,1923 in Negaunee to Julius & Hilma (Hill) Jylha, was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1941, and was a lifelong resident. She was a wonderful wife, mother and daughter. She and her husband owned and operated Buck's Neighborhood Store and the Pasty Shop. She also worked with her husband as a vendor at the K.I. Sawyer A.F.B. Commissary and was an at-home caregiver for children.

Mrs. Maino loved her family, traveling, doing artwork such as ceramics, macrame, drawing, and painting. She enjoyed going to the casino (17 trips to Las Vegas), exercising, the Green Bay Packers, Playing cribbage, euchre, and scrabble. She sang on the radio as a child and continued to sing to her children and grandchildren throughout her life.

Surviving are her six children: Patti (Robert) Worthington of Negaunee, Michael (Christine) Maino of Gwinn, Tony Maino of Negaunee, Julie (Steve) Herman of Negaunee, Jeanne (Robert) Bushey of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Geno (Becca) Maino of Ishpeming, grandchildren: Christy Cate, Bobbie Champion, Christopher Maino, Tony Maino, Chelsea Nienhaus, Cailey Herman, Jesse Herman, Rory Herman, Andy Maino, Marissa Maino, and Elysia Bushey, 13 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul A. "Bucko" Maino on May 7,1990, her grandson Matthew Worthington on April 16, 1994.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday at the Koskey Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Heikkila officiating. Interment will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 PM until the time of services at 3:00 PM at the funeral home on Thursday.
