MARQUETTE - Three people were treated and released from Marquette General Hospital after a two-vehicle traffic crash Wednesday along M-553.

Marquette City Police said the accident was reported at 5:50 p.m. A Honda four-door driven by Mary Ann Gerard, 19, of Chassell was stopped on M-553, preparing to turn into the Noquemanon Trailhead parking lot.

A later model Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Lavern Miller, 28, of Marquette rear ended Gerard's vehicle causing major damage, police said. Both vehicles were a total loss. Gerard and her passengers, Matthew Meyer, 24, of Marquette and Ann Marie Gerard, 21, of Chassell were taken to Marquette General for non-life-threatening injuries. Hospital staff said they were treated and later released.

Police said Miller was at fault in the accident and was ticketed.
