MARQUETTE, Mich. - James H. Letts, 68, of Marquette, died Tuesday morning, August 27, 2013, at Marquette General Hospital.
He was born November 24, 1944, in Marquette, a son of the late Jim Letts and Betty (Arnett) Lambert. Jim attended Graveraet High School and was a 1962 graduate.
On October 21, 1967, he married Mary Lou Jackovich in St. Peter Cathedral.
Jim worked as a drywaller in construction and for the past 30 years was the owner of Jim Letts Contracting, Inc.
He was a past president of the Marquette Dock Association and the Home Builders Association, and was a member of the Carpenters Union.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman, particularly enjoying skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and boating.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Letts of Marquette; daughters, Jacalyn (Rob) Choate of Conway, AR and Christie (Peter) Luff of Dallas, TX; three grandchildren, Addison & Brileigh Choate and Luiza Luff; sisters, Bertie "Susie" Davis and Amy (Bryon) Ennis; and a brother, William "John" (Barbara) Letts.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Patsy Hill and Judie Morrison.
Friends may call at St. Louis the King Catholic Church on Friday, August 30, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon in the church with the Rev. Ben Paris officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
