FAIRPORT - The Delta County Sheriff Marine Patrol was dispatched to Big Bay de Noc around 6:30 p.m. Monday for a two-boat collision that sent one boater to the hospital.

According to a press release from the Delta County Sheriff's Office, a 33-foot pleasure vessel operated by Richard Ranguette of Garden was traveling off of Fairport when the boat struck an 18-foot fishing vessel operated by Gregory Frazier of Rock.

Two passengers from Ranguette's boat boarded Frazier's boat and administered first-aid until an EMT from TriStar EMS arrived, police said.

Frazier's vessel sustained heavy damage and Frazier was transported to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital by Rampart EMS, where he is listed in fair condition Tuesday. Ranguette's vessel sustained minor damage and neither Ranguette or his four passengers sustained injuries.
