August 22, 2013
The Mining Journal

HARVEY - About 2,200 customers of the Marquette Board of Light and Power lost electric service for more than an hour Wednesday when a tree fell on a power line in Chocolay Township.

BLP officials said the outage started at about 11:40 a.m. when a large tree hit a line along U.S. 41 near Foster Creek Drive.

The circuit feeds a portion of Chocolay Township, including the Harvey area.

At shortly after 1 p.m., power was restored to roughly 1,800 of the impacted customers and service was fully restored by about 1:30 p.m.
