MARQUETTE - The Marquette County Sheriff's Office has released more information about a two-vehicle crash in Forsyth Township on Sunday that sent two children to Marquette General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies said the incident was reported at 2:30 p.m. and occurred at the corner of M-553 and M-35.
Police said a 1997 Ford pickup truck driven by Tyler Seppanen, 20, of K.I. Sawyer was heading south on M-553 when it turned left onto M-35 in front of a 2003 Dodge Stratus. The Stratus, which was driven by Faith Smith, 36, of Gwinn, was headed north.
Police said Smith had her four children -ages 6, 9, 14 and 17- in the Stratus. Two of the children, who were sitting in the rear of the vehicle, were taken to Marquette General where they were treated and released.
Police said all vehicle occupants were wearing safety belts and using child restraint equipment. Seppanen was ticketed for making an improper turn.
