MARQUETTE - Upper Peninsula Honor Flight reunions are planned for Sept. 29 and Sept. 30 at the Island Resort and Casino in Harris.
The reunions will be for the World War II veterans who went on the first five flights; one guest for each veteran; and for the people who served as flight guardians, accompanying the veterans on the journey.
The reunions will include lunch, entertainment and a special guest speaker.

In the first four missions, more than 300 World War II veterans were transported to Washington, D.C., to see the WW II Memorial and other monuments in the area. U.P. Honor Flight's fifth mission for Wednesday, Sept. 18.
The experience for the Honor Flight veterans is at no charge to them in appreciation for their service and sacrifice to the country. Each veteran is accompanied by a "guardian" who pays his or her own expenses associated with the flight. The U.P. Honor Flight is entirely a volunteer organization and has 501 (c) 3 status.
For Missions I, II and V, the reunion will be from noon to 4 p.m. EDT Sept. 29. For Missions III and IV, the reunion is set for noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 30.
The reunions are being sponsored by the Island Resort and Casino. The cost of the event will be free for the WWII veterans, $10 for one guest per veteran and $10 for the flight guardians, payable at the door.
