MARQUETTE, MI. - Timothy Jon Gannon, age 55, of Marquette, entered eternal life Monday morning, August 12, 2013, at Marquette General Hospital.
Born January 3, 1958 in Marquette, a son of William and Jean (Lovely) Gannon, Tim was a lifelong Marquette area resident. He was a 1976 graduate of the Marquette Senior High School and, following graduation, had a career managing local area grocery stores. Tim was an enthusiastic (understatement) fan of hockey and was a passionate hockey coach who was very involved in the hockey programs of Marquette and Negaunee. For his efforts and devotion to the sport and its players, Tim was the recipient of the Michigan Coach of the Year award. A very devoted father, Tim is survived by his son, Shaun Gannon of Green Bay; his mother, Jean Gannon of Marquette; siblings, Lisa Gannon of Merrideth, CO, Toby (Amber) Gannon of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Emily Gannon of Minneapolis, MN, Pat (Mary) Gannon of Eagan MN, Dan (Laura) Gannon of Marquette, and Mike Gannon of St. Paul, MN; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, William Kenneth Gannon.
