MARQUETTE, Mich. - Mary Ann Mladenich, age 91, of 1901 Division Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Marquette General Hospital.
Born September 28, 1921, in Limestone, a daughter of Anton and Antonia (Ladic) Mladenich, Mary was raised in Limestone. She graduated from the Eben High School in 1939 and enrolled in the Ferris Institute in Big Rapids, pursuing a business-secretarial course of study. She was employed as a secretary in Detroit for a time, before relocating to Marquette. Her secretarial employments locally were with St. Mary's Hospital, the Foye Insurance Agency, and finally with the Department of Natural Resources from which she retired. In her later years, she spent the winters in Marquette and summers at her home in Trenary. Mary was known for her kindness and helpful, generous nature.
Survivors include her brother, Anthony (Hazel) Mladenich of Warren; a niece, Yvonne (Jerry) Kordek of South Lyon; great-nephews, Michael and Greg Kordek; great-great-niece, Sabrina Kordek; and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Marie and husband, Eino Luoma, and their son, Shaun Luoma; and a brother, Frank Ross and wife, Amy.
Friends may call at St. Michael Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 14, beginning at 12:00 noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Larry Van Damme, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
