GWINN - Defending champion Chris Rhoades of Marquette captured his fourth Red Fox Run Open golf championship by edging Tim Clepper of South Carolina in play Aug. 3-4.
With the help of a 69 the first day - including an ace on the second hole - Rhoades fired a two-day 143 total, one stroke better than Clepper's 144. In the Senior division, Mark Codere of downstate Clinton Township took top honors with a two-day 148 total.

Men's Open Division: First flight, Chris Rhoades, 143, and Tim Clepper, 144. Second flight: Jason Ghiardi, 157, and Andy Pool, 165.
Men's Senior Division: First flight, Mark Codere, 148; Ed Flath, 155; Buryl Smith, 156; and Tom Getman, 157. Second flight: Terry Green, 176; Ted Sundinsky, 181; Mike Misterly, 189; and Wally Kari, 197.
