Edit challenged

August 8, 2013
Dan Scholnik , The Mining Journal

To the Journal editor:

In a recent editorial, The Mining Journal stated, "It isn't reasonable to believe that [fracking] chemicals will migrate up, denying the laws of gravity."

It seems worth noting that these alleged laws of gravity are routinely flouted by volcanoes, geysers, and the occasional rogue oil well. Scofflaws all, perhaps, but nonetheless evidence that determining what is reasonable might require a little more reasoning.
