Benefit golf scramble planned for Gentz's Homestead

MARQUETTE - A Grant Henriksen Memorial Golf Scramble and Picnic Fundraiser will be held next month at Gentz's Homestead Golf Course in Marquette.

The scramble is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, with a limit of 18 teams of four golfers apiece playing nine holes. The cost is $45 per person, which includes use of a cart and a meal at Marquette Mountain.

Fox Marquette is a hole-in-one sponsor with a 2014 Subaru Legacy as a prize. A social is set for 2:30 p.m. the same day, with a public picnic at 3:30 p.m. and a raffle/auction at 4:30 p.m - all at Marquette Mountain. The picnic costs $15 per person in advance. All proceeds will go to Upper Peninsula families who have a child battling cancer.
