Scouts attend national jamboree

Marquette area Boy Scouts, Venture and leaders who recently attended the National Scout Jamboree included: front row from left, Milien McDermott and Nathan Rotundo of Marquette, Justin Huskey of Negaunee and Dallas St. Arnaud of Skandia; and back row from left, Noah Hausmann and Ethan Hausmann of Gwinn, Connor Elliott, Sam Leow and assistant scoutmasters Mark and Wesley Matteson. Attending the jamboree but not pictured was Venture advisor Scott Hausmann. The local group was among 38 Boy Scouts, Venture Scout, and leaders from the Upper Peninsula who attended the jamboree at the Summit Bechtel National Scout Reserve in West Virginia. The U.P. Scouts spent nine days at the Jamboree, which includes about 40,000 Scouts from across the U.S. and other countries.
