The Marquette County Quilters visited Bay Cliff Health Camp on July 2 to watch the campers enjoying a day of gardening, crafting, reading, visiting the library and participating in physical therapy and speech sessions. The MCQA traveled to the Bay Cliff Health Camp to deliver the "Nooker Quilts" to the camp administrator's office. The quilts would be given to the young children, ages 3-6 years old, to take home. The MCQA group met with Assistant Director and Educational Coordinator, Karen Schlicher, who received the quilts as gifts for the children. Each year the members of the Marquette County Quilters' group donate fabric and construct the quilts under the co-ordination of Chris Wiik. Quilts are given to the young Bay Cliff children as gifts to take home each summer. As one counselor said, "The quilts remind the children of friends they made at camp, camp experiences and lessons learned." The MCQA is already starting on the quilts for next year.
