Alger County experiencing 911 system problems

MUNISING - The Alger County Sheriff's Office is experiencing technical difficulties with is 911 emergency line, and is asking any county residents with an emergency to call a different number.

According to Deputy Jason Lindquist, some landlines are not able to get through when they are used to all 911.

"Some calls are getting transferred to Delta County and some people can't get through period," Lindquist said.

Anyone with an emergency should call either 387-7020 or 387-7030 until the problem can be fixed.

Lindquist said the public would be notified when the 911 emergency line was fully operational again.

"We got all our techs working on it," Lindquist said.
