Donna Budreau Jamison Grivicich

NAPLES, FL., - Donna Budreau Jamison Grivicich, of Naples FL, age 92, died on July 17.

She was born in Antigo Wisconsin, to Emil John Boudreau and Alice Mae Atkins Budreau on June 8 1921. She is survived by a daughter Judith Haig and husband Robert, of Marco Island FL, sons Carl F.Jamison Jr.and wife Leigh, of Marquette MI and Erin Thomas Grivicich and wife Annie of Rapid River MI, son in law Paul Timler Sr., nine grand children and five great grand children. She was preceded in death by daughters Tana Jamison and Ruth Elaine Timler, husbands Carl Jamison and Robert Grivicich, sister Nona Budreau, brothers , Lyle, Chester Sr., Dale, and Jack Budreau.

Her childhood was spent in the Wisconsin north woods and lumber camp environments. She graduated from Shorewood HS in WI, attended Rosary College in River Forest IL. While raising four children she went on to earn a B.A. from Drew University NJ, a Masters degree and professional Diploma from Columbia University NY and did extensive work toward her doctorate at Rutgers University NJ. Elected to Kappa Delta Pi and Pi Lambda Theta at Columbia, Donna was a member of the American and Michigan Psychological Association and American Association of University Professors. She spent several summers abroad studying comparative educational and cultural systems. A dedicated educator, she worked as an elementary school teacher in NJ and MI, an Instructor at Fairleigh Dickinson College, as an assistance professor at Newark State College, and professor at Gogebic Community College. She also served as the first female counselor and Training Officer for the all male Ojibway Job Corps Center in upper MI. She was awarded a place in "Who's Who of Outstanding Professionals in Human Services" for her work with inner city ethnic projects in New York CIty and Newark NJ sponsored by the NAACP and the Urban League.
