MARQUETTE, MI. - William James Medick Sr., age 90, of Marquette, entered eternal life Thursday morning, July 25, 2013 at the Hospice Suite located at Marquette General Hospital, in the loving, and comforting care of his family and Lake Superior Hospice.
Bill was born September 9, 1922 in Wheeling, West Virginia, and has resided in Big Bay for the past 24 years. Bill graduated from West Virginia University, where he received a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the United States Navy. Bill enjoyed nature and all the outdoors had to offer, he was advocate for animal welfare, and was also a member of the Big Bay Community Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sara C. Medick; his children, William James Medick II (Cathy) of Grosse Ile, MI, Sally Medick Demick (Gene) of Lake Somerset, MI and Chester Oscar Medick (Deborah) of Custer, WI; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter, P.O. Box 968, Marquette, MI 49855.
