Francis J. Bertucci

ISHPEMING TWP., MI. - Francis J. Bertucci, age 81 of 1800 Glendora Ln, Ishpeming passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Rochester Methodist Hospital (Mayo Clinic) in Rochester, Minnesota following a brief illness.

Francis was born January 6, 1932 in Ishpeming to Frank & Theresa (Tasson) Bertucci. Fran graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1950. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was stationed on the USS Orion where he was a Third Class Petty Officer- Gunners Mate. Fran worked as a welder for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company where he retired from after 44 1/2 years of employment.

Fran was an avid hunter & fisherman, he enjoyed time spent at camp, traveling and going to the casino. He was a member of the AMVETS, the NRA, and the North American Hunting Club.

Fran is survived by his wife Martha Koski, 4 children: Kevin (Connie) Koski of Golden Valley, AZ, Tammy (John) Sandberg of Ishpeming, Lisa (Charles) Kangas of Negaunee and Francis Bertucci of California, 2 sisters: Theresa Carriere and Mary Jane (Jim) Boles both of Ishpeming, 3 brothers-in-law: Gerald (Peggy) Koski, Brian (Lorraine) Koski, and Kevin (Betty) Koski, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Fran was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Tammy Sandberg, brothers: Anthony and Dominic Bertucci and sisters: Rose Armitage and Elizabeth Bengry.

Honoring Fran's wishes there will be no services. Cremation will take place with inurnment at Northland Chapel Gardens.
