CALUMET - A Calumet man was killed Tuesday morning while working on a home repair project in Houghton County's Adams Township.
The Houghton County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident in the Brooklyn Location just before 11 a.m. Police said a group of people from the area were volunteering to make repairs to a house.
The victim, identified as 38-year-old James Spagnotti of Calumet, was in the process of setting up scaffolding when he was electrocuted by a nearby power line.
Adams Township First Responders along with personnel from Mercy Ambulance arrived on the scene and attempted to revive the Spagnotti but were unsuccessful.
Police said the investigation of the death will continue.
