MARQUETTE - Mike Devine and Mike Marietta of Marquette birdied the final two holes on Sunday to hold off a late charge and win Marquette Golf Club's annual two-man best ball tournament on the Greywalls course.
Devine and Marietta had just enough to beat Mark Clements and Jared Koski of Ishpeming by one shot. The winners shot 133 on a Saturday round of 65 and Sunday's 68, while the runners-up had 134 with 68-66.
Tying for third with 135 in the championship flight were KC Bjorne and Aaron Swanson of Marquette (64-71) and Chad Tirshel and Tom Lavigne of Kingsford (67-68).
