Fire department relocates

July 16, 2013
The Mining Journal

ISHPEMING - The Ishpeming City Fire Department moved into its temporary home today.

The fire department has relocated to the old recycling center building on Carson Road, off of Lakeshore Drive in Ishpeming. The move is due to the Partridge Creek project disrupting traffic near the Ishpeming fire hall on Lake street and the city plans to reinforce the 100-year-old fire hall floor in the next few months.

It hasn't been determined when the fire department will be moved back into the fire hall. Until then, motorists are asked to be aware of emergency vehicles entering Lakeshore Drive from Carson Road.
