July 16, 2013
The Mining Journal

ESCANABA - Three teams from the United Flyball League International are planning a fundraiser tournament for the Eva Burrell Animal Shelter and Delta Animal Shelter. The tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba in the Miracle of Life Building. Admission is free to the public.

For more information, visit www.u-fli.com or call 906-341-8180 or 906-789-0230.

Flyball is a fast-paced relay racing sport (much like drag racing for dogs). Several teams of four dogs compete side by side to race over hurdles, step on a spring-loaded box that shoots out a tennis ball which the dogs retrieve "on the fly" and return to their handlers.
