WHITEHALL, Mont. - Mary Ann Foss, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Whitehall, Montana, where she had resided for the past seven years.

Mary was born in Flint, Michigan, on November 9, 1960. Mary attended schools in Sault Ste. Marie, Ironwood and Marquette, graduating from Marquette High School in 1978. She also attended Northern Michigan University and St Mary's College in Omaha, Nebraska.

When not at work, Mary was an ardent hunter, fisherman, hiker, explorer and bone hunter as she described herself, collecting antlers while walking or riding her ATV. Mary almost always filled her game bag of deer, antelope and sometimes elk, and always field dressed the game herself. During extremely stormy weather she busied herself with her arts and crafts. She loved to fish during the summer and winter catching all species of fish including many trout.

Mary leaves her father Edward, brother Tom (Carol), nephew Jordan and niece Lindsay of Colorado Springs and many relatives and friends and special friend, Steve.

Her mother, Jacklyn Ann, predeceased her.

Funeral rites were held for Mary along the Jefferson River near Whitehall, Montana, on May 13, 2013, attended by her family and close friends. In accordance with Mary's wishes, her ashes were scattered in Lake Superior, Mary's Cove at Sunset Point in Marquette.

Mary will be greatly missed by her loving family and her many friends.
