Legion baseball: Kingsford holds off Ishpeming

ISHPEMING - Kingsford built a 4-0 lead and held off Ishpeming 4-3 in American Legion baseball on Tuesday.

Kingsford tallied a run in the second and three in the third for its cushion, while Ishpeming rallied with one run in the sixth and two in the seventh.

Kingsford's Michael McCole, in his first pitching appearance after an injury, permitted three hits in five innings. He fanned three and walked two.

Relief pitcher Brandon Kowalkowski gave up two hits and walked three.

CJ Qualley, Wes Paupore, Cole Tengesdahl, Gabe Swanson and Cole Michaud each had two hits for Kingsford.

Kingsford (12-12) participates in the Mid-Pen League tournament at Channing starting Saturday morning.
