HANCOCK - Ryan Hanson and Ryan Walther each knocked in two runs to support pitcher Luke Swajanen mound effort in a 7-2 American Legion baseball victory posted by the Marquette Blues at Hancock on Wednesday evening.
Swajanen went the full seven innings, scattering nine hits and four walks while fanning three. He worked himself out of trouble, stranding a runner on third base at least four times.
Hanson and Riley Lynch each collected two hits, with Lynch's double the only extra-base hit of the game. Marquette broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the third and three more in the fifth to eventually went ahead 7-1.

Hancock actually outhit the Blues, 9-7, as the home team's starting pitcher, Tyler LaDuran, took the loss. He went four innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out six and walking two as the first of four Hancock pitchers.
