Ishpeming detour changes

July 10, 2013
The Mining Journal

ISHPEMING - Downtown Ishpeming's Partridge Creek project will cause traffic to be rerouted through a different detour beginning today.

To accommodate paving the intersection of Lakeshore, Greenwood and Division streets and Hematite Drive, the detour will route traffic onto Second, Bessemer, Third and Fourth streets, as well as Cleveland Avenue, to bypass Division Street - also known as Business Route 28 - from Washington Street to Fourth Street.

Beginning Monday, traffic will again be routed through the previously used detour along First Street and Hematite Drive to bypass Division Street from Greenwood Street to First Street.

All business will remain open during both detours, but some localized access will be limited due to construction activities, particularly for businesses located between Lake Street and Greenwood Street. Those may be limited to foot traffic only, with parking available on Lake or Superior streets.

For more information, call Ishpeming's Department of Public Works at 486-9371.
