Accident victim in critical condition

MARQUETTE- A Marquette man is in critical condition today after being injured in a pedestrian-motor vehicle accident Friday night.

Marquette resident Harlan Lamb, 51, was hit by a vehicle while crossing South Front Street at the Genesee Street intersection in south Marquette. The incident occurred at 10:22 p.m. Friday.

According to police, when Lamb crossed the street, a northbound vehicle in the outside lane had slowed for him. At the same time a 2001 Nissan sedan driven by 34-year-old Jed Tyner, of Eben, was driving northbound on South Front Street in the left lane and was unable to stop in time and struck Lamb.

Lamb was taken to Marquette General Hospital, where he remains today.
