Johnson has four hits for IRACORE in Iron Range Women’s Softball victory

In Class A results from June 5, IRACORE stomped Jubilee Foods, 19-4, behind four hits by Charissa Johnson, and three each by pitcher Britney Racine (home run) and Brianna Johnson (triple).

Steph Alongo went 2-for-3 with a triple for Jubilee. Amanda Harlock and Brenda Thomas added doubles.

Amy Ayotte went 6-for-6 with a homer to lead PC Medic to a 25-12 thumping of Jasper Ridge Brewery I. LeAnn Saarela posted three hits for the brewery.

Fox Negaunee edged Sisters, 15-14, behind five hits by Toni Enrietti and four by Katie Rankinen (triple).

For Sisters, Leah Dompierre hit a double and knocked in three runs; Jesse Rosten recorded a triple and plated a run; and Sandi Whitford slammed a double and collected an RBI.

Mary Scherer-Niemi came up with four hits and Debbie Zummack added three to spark Buck's Party Store to a 16-1 triumph over Cliffs Natural Resources.

Jess Syrjala hit a triple for the losers.

Venice knocked off Hickey's, 23-15, as Amy Steele (four) and Michelle Turri (three) combined for seven hits. Nichi Sundberg smacked a homer among her three safeties.

In Class B play, Rachel Argall and Nicole Hewitt both went 5-for-5 as Tino's II dumped VFW, 28-12. Brandee Korpi and Sue Luokkala came up with three hits apiece for VFW.

Jasper Ridge Brewery II outlasted Dave's Collision, 29-28, behind a grand slam by Diana Sundberg, and five hits apiece by Liz Valela and Briana Bancroft.

Jamee Gobert slugged two home runs and Amy Niemi added four hits for Dave's.

Rhonda Williams went 5-for-5 with a homer, and Lori Marshall and Julie Carlson added three hits each, as Rookie's Too/Quality Car Care drubbed Jack's TeePee, 20-4.

Tina Maki produced two hits for Jack's.

Crossfit 906 got four hits from Liz Steve, and three apiece from Katie Richer and Janine Chapman, in a 10-9 victory over Signs Unlimited.

Erin Carlson posted three hits, while Nicole Chapman, Jess Koski, Sarah Peura and Becca LaChapelle chipped in two hits each, for Signs Unlimited.

UP Off Road & Performance shaded Pasquali's, 12-11, as Sam Zamesnik led the way with four hits. Deanna Dunn went 4-for-4 with a homer for Pasquali's.

Sara Martin went 5-for-5, with two home runs, a triple and two doubles, to power Paradise Bar to a 26-11 triumph over Hair Hiatus. Teammates Rebekah Ayotte (four, with a triple) and Heather Nelson (three, with a triple), combined for an additional seven hits.

Thalicia Gray and Michelle Gray both went 2-for-3 with a round tripper for Hair Hiatus.

Class C competition saw the Negaunee Eagles trim Willey's Tire Shop, 7-6, as Nancy Lane backed hurler Sue Bazinette with two hits.

Kathy Gischia smacked a triple and Palomaki Family Chiropractic recorded a triple play in a 19-3 clubbing of Tru North Credit Union.

Country Lanes toppled Wooden Nickel, 24-17, behind five hits by Ashton Kirchoff and a homer by Becky Lawson.

For Wooden Nickel, Francise Higgins went 4-for-5 and Whitney Brugman hit a double, triple and home run.

Sarah Massie had two circuit clouts among her three hits and Kara Harrington chipped in three hits - one a homer - as Martin Sports Apparel blanked Eastwood, 18-0. Carolyn Trewnick had two hits for Eastwood.

Rookie's I stopped UP Fabricating, 14-13, as Abby Walimaa hit a home run. Alyze Schaefer hit two homers for UP Fabricating.
