Hiawatha Music Co-op Board member Doug Kitchel, left, and Brian Prill of Grand Marais look over a pamphlet from the Augusta Heritage Center in Elkins, W.Va. Prill received the 2013 Hiawatha Music Co-op Scholarship to the center. The $850 scholarship will enable Prill to be a resident at the center for eight days in August to study bluegrass guitar with master artists and top performers, including Jack Lawrence. The Augusta Heritage Center is internationally known for activities relating to traditional folk-life and music of many cultures with an emphasis on the southern Appalachian region.
