Negaunee band to perform

NEGAUNEE - The Negaunee City Band will offer its first concert of the summer season at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Outdoor Performing Arts Center at the east end of Iron Street.

Director Keith Lawson returns with a selection of marches, including "Accolade," "Indiana State Band," and Sousa's "New York Hippodrome" as well as "Seventy-Six Trombones."

Soloist for the evening will be Nate Mann playing "Soliloquy for Trumpet." Broadway is represented with highlights from "Music in the Air" and selections from "Oliver" along with a short series including "Give My Regards to Broadway," "Hello Dolly," and "Before the Parade Passes By." Other numbers are "Great Lakes Overture" and "Beatles Gold."

The closing number will be the traditional "Just a Closer Walk with Thee."
