ISHPEMING - The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Chamber of Commerce has released a free smartphone application to help better connect people to the west end.
This is a new project for the GINCC and Executive Director Elizabeth Peterson said she is very happy with it.
The way it works is that the app pulls information from the GINCC directory on its website, which members have access to, so every time a business updates its profile the information on the app will automatically update, Peterson said.
Above and above left are screen grabs from the new smartphone app that the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Chamber of Commerce has initiated. The app is available on iPhones and Android phones and can be found by searching GINCC in the App Store or Google Play Store.
"So it really gives people information about our members at their fingertips and if they are out and about and they want to find a restaurant, they can click on a restaurant, check it out and it will give them directions to that restaurant, the phone number and link them to the website if the business has one," she said. "I think it will be a useful tool once we start promoting it and getting it out there."
The app is available on both the iPhone and Android phones and can be found by searching GINCC in the App Store or Google Play Store.
