Kiwanis honor MSHS May Athletes of the Month Noblet, Frazier

MARQUETTE - During their morning breakfast meeting, the Superiorland Kiwanis honored their Marquette Senior High School Female and Male Athletes of the Month for May. The May female honoree is Kathleen Noblet. The May male athlete honoree is Jordan Frazier.

Noblet is a graduating senior and four year member of the varsity girls track and field team at MSHS. She qualified for the U.P. Finals once again this year in four events, having earned a third, two seconds and a first place in 2012.

Noblet graduated from MSHS with a 3.94 GPA and plans to attend Michigan State University in the fall.

In addition to her athletic and academic success, Noblet belongs to the Key Club, Health Occupations Club, Honor Society, the Environmental Club and the high school orchestra. She has volunteered her time helping with the Marquette Marathon, at local nursing homes and Relay for Life events.

Noblet is coached by girls varsity track coach John Peterson and is the daughter of Robert and Eileen Noblet.

Frazier is a graduating senior year at MSHS and joined the varsity golf team as his first MSHS sport this spring. Frazier enrolled at Marquette Senior High School for the 2012-13 school year to play hockey for the Marquette Electricians Midget AAA hockey team. As a member of the golf team this spring, Frazier helped MSHS earn the MHSAA Division 1 U.P. Championship for Marquette with a third-place overall finish.

Throughout the season Frazier lead the team by earning medalist honors at four regular season events, including the Marquette Invitational and the Great Northern Conference Championship. He is graduating with a 3.95 GPA.

Frazier will attend Northern Michigan University this fall with plans to transfer to the University of Michigan in the future. Frazier is coached by boys' varsity head golf coach Ben Smith, and is the son of Shane and Tammy Frazier of Las Vegas, Nev.
