MHSAA baseball: Negaunee reaches district final to face host Gladstone

GLADSTONE - Tyler Jandron and Zane Radloff each notched two hits and three runs scored to lead the Negaunee High School baseball team to a 14-1 state Division 3 district tournament semifinal win over Pickford in Gladstone on Friday.

Eric Lori added three runs scored and NHS teammate Luke Hill chipped in two RBI.

The Miners are scheduled to meet the Gladstone at 1 p.m. today in the district final in?Gladstone after the Braves shutout Superior Central 8-0 in the other semifinal.

Negaunee scored two runs in the opening inning, then put the game on ice with a six-run third in a six-inning contest ended early on a mercy rule.

Tony Zampese went the distance to collect the mound triumph. He surrendered just two hits and three walks while striking out eight.
