GWINN, Mich. - Thomas C. Meni, 66, of Gwinn, passed away Saturday evening, May 25, 2013 at his home with his loving wife at his side.

Tom was born on February 1, 1947 in Negaunee, a son of the late James R. and Jalma (Tullila) Meni. He was a 1974 graduate of Negaunee High School and proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy from 1964-1970.

Tom was formerly employed with the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company at the Mather B Mine and also for the Kohler Company in Kohler, Wisconsin. Later, he worked with the Marquette County Road Commission as a welder, maintenance person and truck driver until his retirement in 1986 due to ill health.

In his free time, Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing and Harley-Davidson Motorcycle riding. Spending time at camp with family and friends was especially fulfilling for him.

He is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen A. King, whom he married on June 25, 1966 at St. Louis the King Catholic Church in Harvey; two sons, John (Richard Dwight) Meni of Brooklawn, NJ and Bill Meni of Gwinn; two granddaughters, Alicia and Katlyn Meni and a great-granddaughter, Madison Deeann Meni; one brother, James (Sharon) Meni of Racine, WI; also several nieces and nephews.

At Tom's request, no funeral services will be held.
