Break-ins under investigation

CRYSTAL FALLS - Deputies from the Iron County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of breaking and entering in the Smokey Lake area of Stambaugh Township on Friday.

Iron County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the breaking and entering of four seasonal residences in the area.Two of the residences sustained significant damage while being entered.

Nearby in Wisconsin, Vilas County Sheriff's deputies are also investigating similar breaking and entering incidents.

No suspects have been identified.

Smokey Lake is near the Michigan-Wisconsin State line approximately eight miles from Phelps, Wis.

Anyone seeing suspicious activity, or having information about the crimes in the area this spring is being asked to call the Iron County Sheriff's Office at 906-875-0650 or the Vilas County Sheriff's Office at 715-479-4441.
