MARQUETTE, Mich. - Ann Lillian Borg, age 94, lifelong Marquette resident, entered eternal life Friday afternoon, May 18, 2013, at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee.
Born July 31, 1918, in Big Bay, a daughter of George and Lauretta (Krieg) Eakett, Ann was raised in Marquette and was a graduate of the John D. Pierce High School. During her working career, she was employed with the Singer Sewing Company and Montgomery Ward.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Steve) Berglund of Iron Mountain; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Merindorf, Myrle Sicotte and Audrey Wahtera; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Borg; her son, Terry Borg; a grandson, Mark Borg; two brothers, Stanley and Irwin Eakett; and a son-in-law, Jeff Hanson.
The family relatives and friends at the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon with Pastor Ardy Johnson officiating. Burial will be made in the Northland Chapel Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzhiemer's Association. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the caregivers at Eastwood Nursing Center.
