BELOIT, Wis. - Mary B. McKie, 90, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, May 17, 2013 in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born April 12, 1923 in Marquette, MI, the daughter of the late James John and Ruth Marian (Tincknell) Beckman. Mary attended Milwaukee Downer College. She married Thomas George McKie on October 5, 1944 in Marquette, MI. He predeceased her on October 16, 2004.

Mary was a loving mother and a strong supporter of the Beloit Community and the First Congregational Church. She was a volunteer and corporate member of the Beloit Memorial Hospital, a member of the Beloit Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Beloit Symphony Guild. As an avid reader she supported reading in the community through her active participation in the Current Literature Club, the Friends of the Beloit Library and the Stateline Literacy Council. She was also a sister of Kappa Delta Sorority and a deaconess for First Congregational Church.

Survivors include her sons, Newell "Skip" Thomas (Kathleen) McKie of Trophy Club, TX, Richard Alan (Janice) McKie of Springfield, MO; daughter, Ruth Elizabeth (Paul) Meese of Longmont, CO; grandchildren, Thomas John (Brooke) McKie of Flower Mound, TX, Michael Joseph (Shannon) McKie of Dallas, TX, Anna (Matthew) Jones of Maple Valley, WA, Alex (Andrea) McKie of St. Louis, MO, Trevor McKie of Bolivar, MO, Keelin Meese of Ripon, WI, and Ryan Meese of Longmont, CO; great grandchildren, Zachary, Tucker, MacKenzie, and Tanner Jones of Maple Valley, MO, Macie and William of Flower Mound, TX and Owen of St. Louis, MO.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at First Congregational Church, 801 Bushnell St., Beloit, WI. Inurnment will be in AuTrain, MI this July.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to Beloit Regional Hospice, First Congregational Church, or the American Cancer Society.
